Pneumatic quick couplers, also known as air couplers or pneumatic quick disconnects, are primarily used for pneumatic applications. Couplers connect air tools, hoses or gears to compressed air supplies. Couplers are also used with other gases and be used with low-pressure fluids. 

There are a variety of couplers such as general-purpose or manual connect, push-to-connect and special purpose. The coupler half has a shut-off valve that is automatically opened when a mating nipple is injected and automatically closes when the nipple is removed.  Pneumatic couplers come in a variety of seals, sizes, thread sizes, connections, grades and materials.
